Comfort Food, Chaos, And Cravings
By Trish Delish
Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not here to shame your snacks. I *am* your snacks.
But there’s a difference between enjoying comfort food and straight-up chasing it like it holds the secrets to eternal peace. I’ve eaten cookies while crying. I’ve spooned mac and cheese like it was a coping mechanism. I’ve stared into the abyss of a chip bag and whispered, You get me.
It’s not about hunger. Not really.
It’s about the chaos we’re trying to calm. The loneliness we don’t want to name. The comfort we can’t find in people, plans, or promises-so we look for it in food. One bite becomes five. Then twenty-seven. And even though we’re full, something still feels… empty.
That craving isn’t just for sugar or salt. It’s for peace. Safety. A hug you can chew.
But here’s the truth: food can soothe, but it can’t solve. We deserve more than just temporary relief. We deserve real comfort-the kind that doesn’t come with guilt or a food coma.
So if you’re eating to feel something, don’t beat yourself up. Just start getting curious about what you *really* need.
Taste the truth. I promise it’s softer than you think.
